Ceramist
TECHNIQUE
The manufacturing of the objects is absolutely handmade (wheel, engraving, painting).
The technique is called Sgrafito or Sgrafiti combined with colours. This technique goes back to the Byzantine period, but only with a single colour either green (of copper) or yellowish (of iron).
Later on, it is influenced by the colours used by the Islamic countries, the blue (of cobalt), turcoise (of copper) and finally ends at the known technique Isnik (Nice). Isnik influences are found in Asia Minor and the Eastern Aegean islands (Rhodes etc.).
